Amtrak Offers 20 Percent Savings in Honor of Veterans Day

Veterans and active military can book now to save 20 percent for travel nationwide

WASHINGTON – In honor of our nation’s military veterans, Amtrak is offering 20 percent off travel to veterans and active military personnel. Between Friday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 13, all veterans and active military personnel can purchase discounted tickets on Amtrak.com. The sale is valid for travel between November 27 and May 31, 2019. For savings, use promo code “V111” and select passenger type “F” when purchasing. There are no blackout dates.

Veterans can sit in comfort, instead of traffic, and save by avoiding the additional costs of driving, parking, tolls and gas. They can also enjoy large spacious seats, no middle seats, ample legroom, the freedom to move around and Wi-Fi on most train services. Amtrak offers one of the most generous baggage policies in the travel industry with up to four free bags (two carry-ons and two personal bags), freedom to use phones and electronic devices at all times (no “airplane mode”) and the ability to travel with small pets on many trains.
